Our New Workshop

Sandalwood Downs Candles is excited to announce we are now proud to offer soap and body products workshops. The workshops are conducted on the beautiful grounds of Sandalwood Downs Toodyay, only one hour from Midland. Sandalwood Downs provides participants with a fabulous and unique experience for not only learning how to make your own gorgeous body products but experiencing a stunning rural farm stay setting. 

$85 per person and $50 worth of luxury products to create and take home, including an assortment of luxury soaps, gorgeous body wash, and silky body lotion.

THE PRODUCTS WE USE:

All handmade soaps are made with the best quality ingredients. Unlike commercial soaps, our natural handmade soaps contain luxurious ingredients that moisturize the skin and delight the senses. We add no chemicals, phosphates, sodium lauryl sulphates, or parabens.

Our handmade soap is suitable for those who need a premium quality soap because of skin problems, dry skin, eczema, psoriasis or sensitivities to ingredients found in commercially produced soap. If you want to make your own natural or organic soaps, we use unscented and uncoloured bases ready for you to add your personal touch. 

Goats Milk Soap -

Goats Milk soap greatly benefits the skin since it has a PH level similar to that of our own skin, so it protects by not stripping away natural oils. Its functions as an antibacterial soap without destroying the good bacteria that exist on our skin, consequently it is a very good deodorant soap given that the odorous bacteria that would normally be able to penetrate the skin are not able to do so. Goat milk contains natural alpha hydroxy that is beneficial in removing dead skin cells. Another great thing about our natural soaps is that they are gentle and naturally moisturizing, and fully biodegradable, which is a plus for the environment.

Aloe Vera -

With 5% added aloe vera gel our clear melt and pour base will have a slight greenish tinge. Known for its healing properties Aloe vera is very cleansing and healing for the skin.

Contains: Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Safflower Oil, Glycerine (kosher, of vegetable origin), Aloe Vera Gel, Purified Water, Sodium Hydroxide (saponifying agent), Sorbitol (moisturizer), Sorbitan oleate (emulsifier), Soybean protein (conditioner)

Palm Oil is from companies that comply with RSPO.

20% Kosher Glycerine added in most bases

Hypo-Allergenic, Non-Comedogenic, Biodegradable, No Animal Testing, No Animal Products

Vegan     Gluten-Free     Soy-Free      No SLS or SLES are used in any of our soaps or bases

Food grade oils (originating from plants) are farmed by sustainable growers

Honey soap -

This soap base has 10% added grade A honey and is light to dark amber in color. Contains Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Safflower Oil, Glycerine (kosher, of vegetable origin), Honey, Purified Water, Sodium Hydroxide (saponifying agent), Sorbitol (moisturizer), Sorbitan oleate (emulsifier), Soybean protein (conditioner) Palm Oil is from companies that comply with RSPO.

20% Kosher Glycerine added in most bases Hypo-Allergenic Non-Comedogenic Biodegradable No Animal Testing No Animal Products Vegan  Gluten Free  Soy Free.

SFIC PALM FREE CLEAR - Melt & Pour Soap Base

  • This is the new Palm Free Clear SFIC Soap Base recipe which is now Vegan Friendly.  This pale-colored based that offers hydration and nourishment for your skin.
  • Finest quality glycerin soap made the old-fashioned way and adjusted for crafters’ use. “As natural as we can make it.”

  • With or without any experience you will learn the foundations of the cold process technique. You will be choosing your favorite natural essential oil. I’ll teach you how to add herbs, scents and other additives to your soaps, give you tips and tricks about ingredients to help you create your own soap recipe.
  • Once you know the basics, you will be able to customize the recipes into your own signature soap for personal use, for gifts, for-profit or just to learn about what goes into making soap.

Body Wash

Workshop information

  • Workshops run for approximately 2.5 hours. 
  • Only a maximin of 8 participants
  • Held at the beautiful Sandalwood Downs Toodyay
  • Workshops run on the 3rd and 4th Sunday of every month at 1.30 pm.
  • Private bookings are welcome and can be held on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday with a minimum of 4 participants.
